2023 Roundup 🌿

Writer: Susann Baez UllbergSusann Baez Ullberg

2023 was a big year for the C-Urge Network. We (10 Doctoral Candidates) settled into our home universities: Leuven (Belgium), Halle-Wittenberg (Germany), Catania (Italy), and Uppsala (Sweden), and took our first steps in research planning and preparation.

To kick things off, on October 2, 2023, the C-Urge network’s Principal Investigators and Doctoral Candidates came together for an exciting week-long programme at KU Leuven. This stimulating week included presentations and interactive training sessions led by prominent scholars and young academics alike. It offered fresh perspectives and important insights that would shape our respective research projects and resulted in a productive cross-pollination of ideas.

This time together also forged important connections. After Belgium, we organised bi-monthly online meet ups, which continue to provide an invaluable space for discussion, collaboration, and support.

Looking forward - as our research projects in Argentina, Congo, Germany, Italy, Kenya, and Sri Lanka truly begin - 2024 is set to offer new adventures that encompass countless opportunities to learn. So, here’s to a year of deeper understanding and thoughtful action 🌱
